Kimpura Japanese Restaurant
Greenhills Shopping Center, Ortigas Ave.
San Juan, Metro Manila
(02) 721-8816

Dinner with my both Aunt and Stepmother Emma who just arrived from San Francisco, USA @ Kimpura, Greenhills ’09. Together with us are Ryan (Son of my Brother Ramon and Eloise), An-An (daughter of my sister Nelly and Jerry) and Baditz, my beloved Sister and my Central Bank. As we entered the Japanese restaurant the ambiance was really impressive, and I loved the place. Here you will see a lot  of red chairs and lovely teppanyaki tables.  If you want a little bit of privacy, there are also special rooms intended by the management for it.  Foods as expected were light, less greasy, less fatty, and less salty and easy to digest. Above all, they are delightful to eat. Try the following:  sashimi, sushi, kobachi, miso soup, tempura, gindara teriyaki, shrimp tempura, and angus rib eye. We enjoyed their dessert try them too .The next time you come to Greenhills for shopping, don’t forget to pass by and eat at Kimpura!

Red Kimono – Modern Japanes Cuisine
New Atrium Area
SM Megamall
Mandaluyong

Dinner with Irza @ Red Kimono SM Megamall ’09.  Red Kimono has been voted by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Asia-Pacific (PETA) as the BEST VEGETARIAN JAPANESE RESTAURANT in the Philippines.

I must admit I am a meat-eater and I love American cuisine particularly its steak and ribs. Now I am beginning to love Japanese food for some simple reasons: it’s light, less greasy, oily and fatty, easily digested, and it is presented nicely and orderly.  The more you eat Japanese the more you develop the taste for it, the more you long to eat it. Some of my favorites: sashimi, sushi, maki, tempura and salad.

These are what we order for our dinner:

  • Sashimi Platter
  • Sushi Platter
  • Green Tea Halo Halo with Ice Topping
  • Tea Unlimited

Thanks to Red Kimono it hastens and enhances my my ability to acquire taste for Japanese cuisine. Tonight, we wear Red Kimono and the lyrics of the most popular song entitled “Turning Japanese” applies to us too hehehe
